ABOUT ME

Hi! My name is Kennedy Galvan. I used to live in Corpus Christi, TX for a large majority of my life. I did not really enjoy living there as I was bullied for my condition and it made me really sad. Some people thought there was nothing wrong with me and would accuse me of faking my condition as I was in a wheelchair and am unable to have full use of my legs. I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy when I was two months old. It was difficult to fit in with any groups of people growing up and it made me feel very alone at times. Things changed for the better when my family and I moved to Austin, TX in 2009. At the time I was in the middle of my 8th grade year of school. I was worried about the move because I thought to myself, surely the people and kids would be just as distant and cold towards me because of my condition. Turns out I was wrong! Most everyone was welcoming and open to me. My first year it was a little difficult because I was still adjusting but soon I had a good size friend circle and there was no bullying towards me. Moving to Austin, TX was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be!
